Pepper is also called as Black Gold of Kerala. Even in the very old days traders from Arabia and Europe used to come to Kerala for buying this black gold of Kerala. This gives a very spicy and hot taste when added to curries .It is normally ground as powderbefore being added as a spice. In Malayalam it is called Kurumulagu.Pepper grows in tree which needs support of some other strong trees for it to climb up.
